A curved staircase made for bridal party photos, just north of Orlando.
Luxmore Grande Estate was somebody’s house first: a 20,543-square-foot home built in 2001 in Winter Springs, turned into an event venue after it sold in 2014. We photographed and filmed a wedding here. If you book it, set aside extra portrait time for the staircase. You’ll want it.
On this day the bridal party lined the stairs, and then we took the couple out front and onto the grounds.
The curved staircase is the shot. It fits a whole bridal party, and a gown spread down the steps looks great from the landing or from the foyer floor. Outside, the white front of the house works for wide portraits and big group photos.
For something softer and greener, walk out onto the grounds. Listings for the venue also mention crystal chandeliers and tall windows over the garden, which come in handy when it’s too hot or too wet to stay outside.
The reception is in the indoor Grande Ballroom, which is good news for sound. Your DJ isn’t fighting wind or open air, and the toasts come through clean. The venue’s Wedding Spot listing says music has to end by 11 pm, so plan the night backward from there and confirm it in your contract.
Catering is in-house, so give the venue a headcount for your photo, film and DJ crew’s meals. We’d shoot the staircase while guests are at cocktail hour and save the grounds for the hour before sunset.
The Grande Ballroom holds up to 160. For smaller weddings, the venue offers “minimonies” for up to 30 guests, Monday to Thursday and on some summer weekends.
The ceremony space is outdoors on the grounds. The venue doesn’t publish a rain plan, so ask about one when you tour.
